VCU faculty leader commences term on countrywide range and inclusivity committee – VCU Information

Stephan Davis, DNP, interim associate dean of variety, fairness and inclusion for the Virginia Commonwealth College College of Nursing and the Higher education of Wellbeing Professions, not too long ago started a two-year expression on the American Academy of Nursing Variety & Inclusivity Committee. The committee includes AAN fellows appointed by the board to recommend methods and aims for raising variety and inclusivity in the academy and its leadership bodies.

“I am so honored to depict VCU College of Nursing and the Faculty of Health Professions on this important national committee,” Davis stated. “As a Black member of the LGBTQ+ local community, as a millennial, and as a cisgender person inside of nursing, I imagine the intersection of my lived ordeals merged with my professional know-how related to range, equity and inclusion will give a exceptional point of view to advance the do the job and effects of the academy.”

Davis, who is government director of inclusive management training for the Office of Health and fitness Administration, is a board-qualified nurse govt and accredited academic nurse educator, a fellow and national school member of the American College or university of Health care Executives, a distinguished scholar and fellow of the National Academies of Apply, a fellow of the Healthcare Fiscal Administration Affiliation and a freshly inducted fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.
