
Essex County will hold its 2nd Annual Essex County Road to Wellness: Mobile Health Fair featuring a variety of free health screenings and educational information from 24 community-based health organizations, including the Mobile Clinic Van from the Essex County Office of Public Health Management. “We are excited to host our annual Mobile Health Fair, bringing together a diverse range of healthcare providers and essential medical screenings. Whether you are uninsured, underinsured, or simply in need of accessible care, we invite you to join us and take advantage of screenings and programs that can improve your health and wellbeing,” Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. said. “Essex County, along with our dedicated partner agencies, is here to support you on your ‘Road to Wellness.’ ”
Members of the public are invited to receive free health screenings including, but not limited to, mammography screenings, HIV and STD testing, pap smear screenings, prostate cancer screenings, genetic cancer risk screenings, stroke risk assessment and diabetes assessment. Healthcare providers participating in the Essex County Mobile Health Fair will also be offering educational programs for dental and oral health, childhood lead poisoning, and more. The Essex County Mobile Health Fair will include fresh farmers market produce to take home.
Participating in the Road to Wellness event are the Essex County Office of Public Health Administration, Essex County Sheriff’s Office, Family Service League, Aetna, Zufall Health, Newark Community Health Centers, Inc., Mammography in Motion, New Jersey Governor’s Council on Mental Health Stigma, Covenant House, RWJBarnabas Health, Iris House, Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Partnership for Maternal and Child Health, Diabetes Foundation, Kinder Smile, MEND Hunger Relief Network, Crossroads 4 Hope, New Jersey Department of Health, CarePlus New Jersey, Pfizer, Essex-Passaic Wellness Coalition, Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey, Newark Department of Health and Community Wellness, Screen NJ and Lakay Acces Sante.
